James City County is pleased to announce that Axe Republic has opened at 4919 Courthouse Street in New Town Williamsburg. Axe Republic is an entertainment axe throwing venue that hosts individuals, groups and leagues. Axe Republic is owned by Nikki Montero.

Axe Republic has 12 lanes for axe throwing, each with a wooden backboard. Six patrons are permitted per lane and reservations can be made in advance online. Axe Republic will sell gourmet hot dogs, snacks including Celli’s Chocolate Chips cookies and beverages.

Safety comes first at Axe Republic and all patrons must complete a 15-minute safety session before they throw any axes. Closed toed shoes must be worn and all axe throwers must be at least 14 years old. Minors must have a parent or guardian present to participate. Each session is 75 minutes long and costs $27 per person.

“I fell in love with axe throwing after trying it and I’m so excited to share the thrill with others,” said Montero. “Whether someone is looking for something fun and different to do for date night or a birthday party or they want a great team-building activity, Axe Republic is a great place to visit and no experience is necessary.”

Axe Republic is a member of the World Axe Throwing League.
