Sweethaven Lavender of Williamsburg Open for Business

Sweethaven Lavender Farm ribbon cutting

Sweethaven Lavender of Williamsburg (Sweethaven) held a ribbon cutting for their new business at their farm located at 2301 Jolly Pond Road. Sweethaven is owned by Kerry Messer.

Sweethaven will open with its inaugural lavender festival on Saturday, June 29. Tickets for the festival are sold out. No additional tickets will be sold at the door. As a reminder, festival goers cannot turn left onto Jolly Pond Road by James River Baptist Church to get to Sweethaven because the portion of Jolly Pond Road at the dam is closed.

Sweethaven will open for visitors on Thursday, July 4. Their hours are as follows, but may be dependent on weather:

  • Thursday-Saturday, July 4-6 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 7 from 2-6 p.m.
  • Thursday-Saturday, July 11-13 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 14 from 2-6 p.m.
  • Thursday-Saturday, July 25-27 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 28 from 2-6 p.m.

U-Pick lavender will be available at the farm. Bouquets must be pre-purchased at the mercantile shop on site. Sweethaven’s all-natural, small-batch handmade skincare line will be available for purchase including lotions and soaps. Dried lavender bouquets and essential oil will also be for sale. Sweethaven will also offer lavender honey, lavender lemonade and other lavender products.

“We are blessed to open the fields of Sweethaven to the public,” said Kerry Messer, owner of Sweethaven. “Our family has worked hard to grow Sweethaven from an idea to seven acres of lavender and we can’t wait to share lavender with our visitors.”

Sweethaven totals more than 100 acres and is the first lavender farm in James City County. Sweethaven will be available for private events including weddings, groups and more.
