We want to help you keep the summer full of fun! James City County is offering nearly 100 exciting camps this summer! Camps were are listed below by week offered, and then by age.

Week of August 5

Little Tykes Summer Camp • Ages 3-5 through Aug. 15
Monday-Thursday, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
$65; $60 for JC/W residents
James City County Recreation Center
A super fun pre-K camp with creative arts and crafts, outdoor play, music and interactive stories! Come join the weekly adventures! Children must be toilet trained. 700010-A


Busy Bodies - Youth Fitness Fun Camp • Ages 4-6 New!
Monday-Thursday, Aug. 5-8, 9-11 a.m.
$45; $40 for JC/W residents
James City County Recreation Center
This class is specially designed to allow your child to channel their high level of energy into fitness fun activities! They’ll build fitness skills, coordination, learn about healthy habits and participate in motor skill and agility games. We’ll build healthy habits to last a lifetime while getting those wiggles out! Lacrosse Camp • Ages 5-10 New!
Monday-Friday, Aug. 5-9, 9 a.m.-noon

Warhill Sports Complex
New to lacrosse? Never heard of it? This camp is for you. Build upon the fundamentals of shooting, passing and ground balls. Learn the rules of the game and develop critical teamwork skills. Run around and have fun. No experience and no equipment required. 506300-R

REC Connect Summer Camp • Ages 5-14 through Aug. 23 (must have completed kindergarten)
Registrations accepted on a space available basis. Our licensed camps run Monday-Friday through Aug. 23, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. at 5 elementary schools: Clara Byrd Baker, J. B. Blayton, Laurel Lane (waiting list), Matoaka (waiting list) and Stonehouse and one middle school James Blair. Weekly fees: Full-time (4 or 5 days) – $115/week; $110 for JC/W residents and includes field trip fees. $10 discount is available for second and subsequent children in the same family attending full-time. Part-time (3 days or less) – $95/week; $90 for JC/W residents and includes field trip fees. Download registration forms online or pick up at the James City County Recreation Center, the Freedom Park Interpretive Center or Satellite Services in Toano. Horse Care Camp • Ages 9+
Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 5-7, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
$190; $185 for JC/W residents
Stonehouse Stables
Learn the daily routine of feeding, handling and barn chores in a large boarding and lesson barn. After taking care of the horses each morning, students will have a group riding lesson. Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes, and bring water bottles and lunch each day. Instructor: Stonehouse Stables 206190-W

4-H Wildlife Explorers • Ages 9-12
Monday-Friday, Aug. 5-9, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
$150; $145 for JC/W residents
Jamestown 4-H Educational Center
Learn about the many different species of wildlife and their adaptions for survival. Come explore land, water and sky to discover predator and prey relationships, habitat diversity and survival. This is a hands-on program in which campers get to collect, identify and study fascinating marine creatures up close and personal! Try seining on the James River, searching for tracks along the wetlands walkway or build a bird’s nest and discover how amazing our furred and feathered friends can be! Includes field trip to the Virginia Wildlife Museum. Campers need to be prepared to swim each day. Instructor: Jamestown 4-H Educational Center. 806300-K

Wacky Sports Camp • Ages 10-13

Long gone are the days of traditional team sports. The time has come for the obscure to rise and be celebrated. Explore disc golf, archery, pickleball, spikeball, water sports and more during this half-day camp that shakes up the meaning of sports! 506300-S

Kiskiack Junior Golf Academy • Ages 6-14
Monday-Thursday, Aug. 12-15, 9 a.m.-noon
$135; $130 for JC/W residents
Kiskiack Golf Course
FORE! The basic fundamentals of golf are covered in this games-based approach to stance, swing, etiquette, sportsmanship, rules and competitive situations. Golfers will be divided up by age and skill level within the camp setting. Each camper will have hours of one-on-one development throughout the week. Time Travelers: Ancient Civilizations • Ages 7-10
Monday-Friday, Aug. 12-16, 9 a.m.-noon

Each day tour a different ancient civilization – Egyptian, Aztec, Incan, Roman and Mesopotamian. Learn, read, write and participate in activities and crafts to take home each day. You won’t want to miss this “historic” adventure. Instructor: Paula Guerra. 206190-Z

Athletes Global Elite Sports Performance Camp • Ages 7-16 New!
Monday-Friday, Aug. 12-16, 1-4 p.m.

Our program will focus on mental preparation, speed, explosion, agility, fitness, increasing strength, power conditioning training and much more. Sports-specific and separated by age group. One of the most exciting parts of camp is the implementation of daily nutritional education, leadership development homework, communication skills, self-image and team building with others. Full-day camp option available for ages 12-16 in combination with Multi-Sport Camp. 506300-V

Mighty Girls Yoga Camp! • Ages 7-9

The focus of the Mighty Girls Yoga Camp is to help increase self-confidence while learning to grow in peace as you build strength and resilience from the inside out. We’ll learn the physical, mental and social benefits of yoga and mindfulness practices within a safe, cooperative, accepting environment. Explore individual, partner and group yoga poses in the beautiful outdoors of Freedom Park. Discover your strengths through journaling, meditation, yoga games and art activities. We’ll support each other as we learn about ourselves. We’ll collaborate on how to become agents of peace within the community and leaders in our lives. Exploring Art Through Nature • Ages 6-9 New!
Monday-Friday, Aug. 26-30, 9 a.m.-noon

Students will learn to observe, collect and create with items found in nature. Each day will include a brief nature walk, appreciating and respecting the beauty we observe. We’ll make a shadow box of small natural items, looms from small broken tree branches, create art pieces from leaves and flowers, and more. Instructor: Artfully Yours. 206190-FF

This camp will focus on shooting mechanics, one-on-one defense, scoring, ball handling, passing, mental preparation, fitness, conditioning, speed, agility training and much more. Kids Paddleboard (SUP) Fit Camp • Ages 8-12

Jamestown Beach Event Park
This SUP class introduces kids to a whole new way on the water! Paddleboarding is all about balance, so age is not a barrier to becoming proficient at this cool sport. We’ll teach kids all about Stand Up Paddleboarding from the anatomy of the board and paddle, how to paddle out, proper stance and paddling techniques all while learning water safety out on the boards. OP Adventures • Ages 10-12

In this half-day adventure camp, campers venture from home base on a different local excursion each day. Each day brings a new activity including kayaking, rock-climbing, geocaching, biking and hiking all while learning about the historical and natural history that surrounds the area. Camp includes a field trip to Richmond’s Peak Experiences Rock Climbing gym. Weather permitting for all daily activities. 806300-O
