This project involves the design and construction of shoreline stabilization through the establishment of living shorelines along the Chickahominy River and Gordon Creek. The project involves a living shoreline with breakwater and beach nourishment on the west side of the park along the Chickahominy River, and marsh creation and stabilization using coir logs and rock marsh sills on the north side along Gordon Creek.
This project involves design and construction of upgrades and reconfiguration of the County’s marina (formerly known as the Jamestown Yacht Basin) located adjacent to Powhatan Creek. Much of the existing infrastructure has reached or exceeded its useful life and portions are unsafe and unusable. This project will design improvements to the entire marina facility.
This project involves restoring a stream channel that receives drainage from the Toano area just below the intersection of Richmond Road and Forge Road. The stream is currently unstable and eroding. The goal of the project is to restore this degraded stream and improve water quality in the watershed.
