Commissioner of the Revenue

Duties & Responsibilities
The Commissioner of the Revenue is the chief assessing officer of local government. The position of Commissioner is set forth in the Constitution of Virginia and is, therefore referred to as a Constitutional Office. The Commissioner is an elected official chosen directly by the citizens of James City County to serve a 4-year term. Richard Bradshaw has been the Commissioner of the Revenue since Jan. 1, 2000.
