About the Board
Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for five-year terms. Its members also serve on the Wetlands Board. The Board is responsible for ensuring that the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Areas are developed in a manner that protects the water quality of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries by minimizing non-point pollution into County wetlands, streams and lakes from uses of land in the County. Citizens interested in serving on a County Board or Commission can call 757-253-6609 for information, or fill out the Application to Serve.
Meeting Broadcasts
Chesapeake Bay Board meetings stream live online are broadcast live on Cox Cable channels 88 and 48 in James City County and the City of Williamsburg. The meetings also rebroadcast on channels 86 and 46 on Tuesdays. Rebroadcasts are at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Past meetings are available on demand.
