Ariya Jutanugarn is the 2018 Kingsmill Championship Winner

The winner of the 2018 Kingsmill Championship is Ariya Jutanugarn, who becomes the second LPGA player with multiple wins at The Kingsmill Championship. Jutanugarn last won The Kingsmill Championship in 2016. In 2017, Lexi Thompson was the winner. Cristie Kerr has three wins at Kingsmill in 2005, 2009 and 2013.

Despite a soggy forecast and the LPGA cutting the tournament to 54 holes because of inclement weather, The Kingsmill Championship overcame the downpours of rain and finished with an exhilarating playoff between Jutanugarn, In Gee Chun and Nasa Hataoka after a three-way tie. Following the initial playoff, Chun and Jutanugarn remained tied. During each playoff round, Jutanugarn birdied hole 18, which secured her as the winner.

Jutanugarn is 22 years old and from Thailand. Her Sunday win at Kingsmill was her eighth professional title. She last won in November 2017 at the CME Group Tour Championship. In 2018, Jutanugarn has eight top 10 finishes in 12 starts and currently leads the LPGA in official money earned, Race to the CME Globe points and Rolex Player of the Year points.

The Kingsmill Championship is an LPGA event played at Kingsmill Resort on the renowned River Course. Previous winners include Jutanugarn, Kerr, Thompson, Grace Park, Sei Ri Pak, Karrie Webb, Suzann Petersen, Annika Sorenstam, Jiyai Shin, Lizette Salas and Minjee Lee. Since the Kingsmill Championship’s inception in 2003, this event has contributed over $1.5 million to local charities and organizations. Prior to the LPGA event, Kingsmill Resort hosted an annual PGA event for 22 years. The tournament will return in 2019 and 2020.
