Ford’s Colony Country Club Opens Renovated Golf Course

Fords Colony Country Club

James City County is pleased to announce that Ford’s Colony Country Club held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their recently renovated Marsh Hawk Course. The golf course was originally built and designed by Dan Maples in 1985 and is a traditional tree-lined golf course with small undulating greens and strategically placed bunkers. Ford’s Colony County Club is located at 240 Ford’s Colony Drive.

The renovations included replacement of turf on all 18 greens of the Marsh Hawk Course, extension of the greens and course improvements for enhanced playability. All turf was replaced with new Champion Bermuda grass, which has a better growth pattern and a faster recovery time.

In 2016, the clubhouse at Ford’s Colony received major renovations including a new lobby area, upgrades to both restaurants and a new outdoor patio with amenities.

Ford’s Colony Country Club offers 54 holes of championship golf, driving range, golf academy and two restaurants. The facility is open year round to members and the general public. Ford’s Colony Country Club can also host events including weddings, corporate meetings and golf tournaments. Ford’s Colony Country Club has been a member of the ClubCorp family since 2015. ClubCorp is a leading owner-operator of private golf and country clubs and owns or operates more than 200 golf and country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and alumni clubs.
